At the beginning of this year, Lenovo announced it would launch the brand Legion to seek a stronger identity and community to its gaming machines. One of them is Legion Y520. The price is higher than the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming, but this laptop has several advantages. You get a variety of ports, solid-state boot drive plus a large hard disk, and sturdiness. Of course, it is easy to make Legion Y520 recommended. Legion Y520 is well designed, with a complete set of features and performs well.
Armed with Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz processor, 16GB of memory and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, Legion Y520 is quite capable in all areas. 1050 Ti graphics card is not high-end, but it is part of the latest Nvidia GPU line, and proficient in handling modern games at 1080p.
Although thin, but the Legion Y520 has an abundant port on both sides. Lenovo provides an Ethernet jack on the left side, next to the headphone jack, USB port, and a USB 2.0 port. On the right, there is an HDMI connection, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card slot and USB port-C. For storage, there is a 128GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive. Legion Y520 also features Bluetooth and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. A one year warranty covers the laptop.
Unfortunately, the cooling systems still rely on two cooling fans that connected to a heat sink with two heat pipes.
This notebook screen using the Full HD (1920 × 1080) IPS (AH-IPS) panel (LG Philips LP156WF6-SPK3) in leading 15.6-inch diagonal with a pixel density of 142 ppi and 0.18 x 0.18 mm pixel pitch. The screen can be considered a "Retina" when viewed from a distance equal to or greater than 60 cm.
